Se mai intampla sa uitam parola root sau poate cineva a partuns neautorizat in sistem si a schimbat.

# mount /dev/hdaX /mnt/gentoo

//hdaX partitia sau hdd-ul pe care este instalat Linux

#mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc

# chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash

# env-update

# source /etc/profile

#passwd

..

...

#exit

#reboot

//schimbam parola si ai dam reboot dupa care putem intra in sistem cu parola setata





In cazul in care nu aveti CDROM sau cd-ul LiveCD Gentoo vom utiliza alta solutie penru recuperarea parolei de root

In timp ce booteaza Linux primul ce se va incarca va fi bootloader-ul.
In bootloader menu scrieti

init=/bin/sh


Dupa care sistemul va boota in mod single mode root shell.
HDD-ul va in acest mod este montat Read Only de acea trebuia sa remontam in read-write mode

#mount -o rw,remount /dev/ROOT







Unde schimbati ROOT in partitia pe care este instalat Linux
Pasul Urmator este modificarea fisierului /etc/shadow de unde vom sterge parola criptata. Si ultimul pas este resetarea parolei cu comanda #passwd
dupa care rebootati pentru a va loga cu noua parola.

parolei root pierdute mai intampla uitam parola root sau poate cineva partuns sistem mount /dev/hdax
